LAUTECH, its Scholars Shine in 2024 Ranking by ScholarGPS, Meta Analytics LLC, USA

In its latest ranking for the year 2024, ScholarGPS, California, USA has ranked about 30 million scholars and 120,000 institutions worldwide using traceable archival scholarly documents with digital object identifier (DOI). The rankings utilize wide range of metrics that focused on determining the strength of publications (productivity), their impacts and quality to evolve two types of performances: lifetime achievement, and prior 5 years.

It is heartwarming that in the prior five years category, LAUTECH was ranked 6th in Nigeria and 1,447 worldwide for the year 2024. The ranking body recognized industrial wastewater treatment and nano biotechnology as global specialty areas of strength of the University.

Furthermore, some scholars from LAUTECH, namely Prof. Olugbenga Solomon Bello of the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, and Prof. Agbaje Lateef of the Department of Pure and Applied Biology were ranked in their fields as top 0.5% scholars in the world for both lifetime achievement, and in the last 5 years categories. 

For instance, Prof. Olugbenga Solomon Bello was ranked 2,321 globally in the discipline of Chemistry in the period of last 5 years, and ranked top 0.5% in all fields, physical sciences and mathematics, and in chemistry.

Prof. Lateef was ranked 3,403 globally in life sciences and was among top 0.5% in all fields, life sciences, biology and biological sciences, and in specialties of silver nano particles, nano biotechnology, nanotechnology, and biotechnology.

Also, late Prof. Abass A. Olajire of the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry was ranked among the top 0.5% scholars in all fields, and in petroleum specialty.

These scholars among others have been previously ranked as top 2% scientists in the world by Elsevier B.V/Stanford University, USA in the last few years.
