LAUTECH MLS team show class in academic competition

A team of students from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has again demonstrated in-depth understanding of what they are being thought at an academic event to which they were invited.

The academic event, which brought together bright minds from five institutions: UNILORIN, LAUTECH, Al-Hikmah, UNIOSUN, KWASU, across the country, was organized by the University of Ilorin Medical Laboratory Science Students’ Association in honor of the esteemed Prof. E.A.O. Afolayan.

It featured two major segments: the quiz competition and the debate challenge. 1. Joel Gideon and 2. Afolabi Sofiyat Adepeju represented LAUTECH in Debate while 1. Mudasiru Olamide Rokeeb, Akinade Abdullah, Odesola Oluwabamise Promise and Akinola Moses Kolade represented the University in the Quiz aspect.

While feelers from the Quiz event indicated that the LAUTECH team displayed exceptional intellect and composure throughout the stages of the competition. Through rigorous rounds, they maintained the lead and eventually emerged overall champions, earning the 1st position among all participating institutions, In the Debate Competition, the University representatives also performed commendably well and demonstrated strong oratory and critical thinking skills. Notably, LAUTECH was honored with the Second Best Speaker award, highlighting the depth and articulation of the Institution’s delegates.

The latest achievement not only underscores the academic strength of the Medical Laboratory Science programme in LAUTECH but goes further to show quality of training and mentorship available within the Department.
