LAUTECH ASUU converged at Special Congress to honor Prof. Olabode
Olabode, renowned Pest Scientist, was of the Department of Crop production and Soil Science in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
Speaking at the solemn event which held at the 250 Seaters capacity Lecture theatre, representative of the Vice Chancellor, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Strategy and Development), Professor Tunde Ogunkunle, described Professor Olayinka Samuel Olabode, as a lover of the University, which he served in several capacities without looking back. He said Professor Olabode was a responsible unionist who gave his job at the Institution and family all it deserved.
He described him as generous and hardworking, saying he never believed in cutting corners.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Professor Frank Ebijuwa said Olabode was generous and lovable, describing as a respecter of other people's opinion.
A member of the University Governing Council and National Official of ASUU, Professor Thompson Adejumo said Olabode would have contributed much more to LAUTECH and humanity if he had lived.
His Departmental Head at the Department of Crop production and Soil Science, Professor Akeem Babatunde Lawal, said Professor Olabode will be sorely missed in the Department which has become a family house.
