Doctoral students of Professor Oloke endow Award of One Million Naira in his name 

Former Doctoral students of renowned Professor Julius Kola Oloke, at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, this afternoon, honoured the renowned Professor of Microbiology and Biotechnology, through an endowment of One Million Naira(N1,000,000:00) only.

To be known as 'Professor Julius Kola Oloke Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Microbiology' with cash award of one Hundred Thousand Naira to be awarded at the first-degree convocation ceremonies of the University, it is to be managed by the University.

Leader of the group, Professor Agbaje Lateef in his remarks at the brief ceremony which took place at the Office of the Vice Chancellor, said Professor Oloke has contributed immensely to the disciplines of Microbiology and biotechnology globally, and dedicated his academic life to train a lot of scholars, many of whom hold distinguished positions in academia, research institutes, and industries.

He explained that the honour was to appreciate Professor Oloke's high-quality mentorship. He expressed hope that his erudition will continue to inspire current and future generations of microbiologists.

Professor Lateef expressed the desire of the group that implementation of the award should be made to commence from the next convocation ceremonies in April of 2026.

Responding, Professor Oloke thanked members of the group, praying that nothing will stop their steady growth to greater glory.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, in his address appreciated Professor Oloke for remaining committed to the continuous growth of LAUTECH and admonished those at the function to strive at doing good always.
