LAUTECH shines at Nigerian Academy of Engineering National Innovation Competition
LAUTECH emerges first runner-up at Nigerian Academy of Engineering National Innovation Competition, wins N6m, $2,000
Ladoke
Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has once again
affirmed its reputation for excellence in innovation and research,
emerging as the First runner-up at the third National Innovation
Competition organised by the Nigerian Academy of Engineering.
The
university team received a cash prize of N6,000,000 and an additional
$2,000 at the competition, which was held in Lagos on June 24, 2026.
The
award-winning LAUTECH team comprised Mubarak Erinfolami and Ajibade
Ifeoluwa of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering,
Faizat Olubori of the Department of Medicine and Surgery, and Fatia
Bello of the Department of Chemical Engineering.
The
team presented Aquavise, an AI-driven aquafarm with an integrated
wastewater management system designed to promote smarter and more
sustainable aquaculture.
The
innovative solution leverages artificial intelligence and efficient
wastewater management to enhance productivity, improve resource
utilisation, and empower local fish farmers with modern,
technology-driven practices.
The
achievement reflects LAUTECH's continued commitment to fostering
innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research-driven
solutions to real-world challenges.
The
university community congratulates the students on this remarkable
accomplishment and commends their ingenuity, dedication, and outstanding
performance.
Appreciation
is also extended to the university management for its unwavering
support and to the Director of the Centre for Emerging Skills and
Technologies (CEST), Prof. Tesleem Asafa, whose invaluable mentorship
