LAUTECH VC reaffirms commitment to staff development at ANUPA Administrators' Day
The
Vice-Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology
(LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, has reaffirmed
the university's management's commitment to supporting initiatives that
promote staff welfare, professional development, and institutional
excellence.
The
Vice-Chancellor gave the assurance during the 2026 Administrators' Day
Celebration, organised by the Association of Nigerian University
Professional Administrators (ANUPA), LAUTECH Chapter, to celebrate the
promotion of nine Principal Assistant Registrars to the rank of Deputy
Registrars.
Professor
Kalilu described university administrators as the backbone of
institutional governance, noting that while academic excellence remains
the visible face of the university, it is the efficiency,
professionalism, integrity, and commitment of administrators that
sustain the machinery of the institution.
"Through
your dedication, policies are implemented effectively, records are
properly managed, students receive essential services, and the
university's strategic objectives are successfully pursued," he said.
He
assured the association of management's continued support for
programmes that enhance staff welfare and strengthen the university's
administrative system.
In
her keynote address, the Registrar of the university and the number one
ANUPA member of the LAUTECH Chapter, Mrs. Olayinka O. Balogun, who
attended as the special guest of honour, congratulated the newly
promoted Deputy Registrars and charged them to embrace the
responsibilities of their new offices with renewed commitment.
She
urged them to think differently, stressing that the office of a Deputy
Registrar occupies a strategic position in university administration and
should be used to advance the interests of the university.
Mrs.
Balogun emphasized that promotion also demands intellectual growth,
encouraging the newly promoted officers to remain lifelong learners by
reading widely, attending conferences, and acquiring new skills.
"Let
your knowledge continually outgrow your office. Promotion is never the
destination; it is another beginning," she said, adding that every
administrator in the university should strive to become a problem-solver
and a catalyst for institutional progress.
Earlier,
the chairperson of ANUPA, LAUTECH Chapter, Mrs. Olanike Oladosu,
welcomed guests to the celebration and described the promotion of the
nine Principal Assistant Registrars as a milestone worthy of
celebration.
She
expressed appreciation to the Registrar for the confidence reposed in
members of the association, the senior colleagues in the Registry for
their guidance and mentorship, the university's management team,
provosts, and deans for their support, and especially the Vice
Chancellor for approving the promotions.
Mrs.
Oladosu noted that the achievement represents not only a recognition of
individual excellence but also a testament to dedication, hard work,
professionalism, and commitment to the continued growth and development
of LAUTECH.
A highlight of the event was the induction of new members into the association
Public and Alumni Relations Unit,
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH),
Ogbomoso,
Oyo State,
Nigeria.
